The Danube from the Kahlenberg near Vienna to the confluence of the current with the Yantra.

The mapping of the lower Danube (1696-1701) was a milestone in the development of the cartography of South-Eastern Europe.  Marsigli and Müller were the first to recognise that the Danube at Vác begins its course through the mountains with an almost right-angled bend into the Great Hungarian Plain (Alföld in Hungarian).  This finding changed the received cartographical image of the Danube region.
